Here are shots before and after mulching. I installed the walls myself (just dry-stacked) out of one pallet of Germantown Schist. 3 yards of black mulch. As you can see, the Roses have turned into a Shakespeare garden. More on that in the June Update.
In the back, I put in a garden to back the wall next to the patio. Into this I transplanted the two azaleas that were just sitting in the ground (hardly planted) next to the shed. They were just blooming and I was worried, but they ended up doing great. That garden is also being planted with herbs, lavender, thyme, and rosemary. Which will give us something nice after the azaleas are done blooming. Erica's cut garden is exactly that, only annuals.
